I keep reading about goCougar being a scam, but how can it be a scam when you get so much for FREE? Yes, the paid option is still there, but nobody does that anymore, because the site offers so many new features at no cost.

We have a blogging area, and you can choose for your blogs to go public or remain private on your profile and you can choose who gets to see the content.

The forum is very diverse with many sub-forums and topics. It is no longer open for viewing to the public, so that makes our members feel more secure.

Photos are required. No fuzzy pics or group shots. If we can't make out your face, you are GONE. It's right there in TOS...you should have read it before you clicked SUBMIT.

The site now has a zero tolerance for fakes & scammers, and we WILL find you. If admin misses you on the way in, one of the moderators will show you the way to the door.

If you don't log in for over a year, you will be canceled if we stumble on your profile. Admin already did a huge cleanup at the end of 2013.

In addition to private messages on both the main site and the forum side, and private chat...we also have chat rooms and video chat.

goCougar has definitely experienced several changes since the early days (2006 I believe) and I've been on and off the site, but I would NEVER call it a "SCAM".

What it is NOT is a HOOKUP site. It's a dating & relationship site. So if you're looking for a booty call, don't come here. If you like chatting in a forum and making friends with people all over the world, then this is the site for you. If you like respectful banter, come on in.

The only negative aspect about the site is that it's slow, probably because not enough people know about the improvements.

I wouldn't call the OP's assessment of this site a fair one at all. See for yourself.
